Trail Work Update 5.24.19
Posted on May 24th, 2019

Good Afternoon BRMC Owners,

The new section of the Nick-A-Jack trail that connects the trail below the condos down to across the street from the parking lot to go to the Blue Hole is officially open. Please see this pdf with some pictures of the trail along with one of hundreds of mountain laurel blooming in the area. I also included a nice picture of a bi-colored flame azalea that is blooming with many others along Reynolds Parkway.

The new connector trail at the end of North Face and Upper Laurel Creek is also open and has been blazed Laurel Creek Connector. On the trail map this is a brown trail and noted on the key as a logging trace/future trail. This will be updated on new maps that will be coming out at some point.

The new loop trail down at Dugger Creek Falls is about 50% complete.

There have been some trail blazes down at the Blue Hole on the Heavenly Mountain side of the creek that have occasionally gone missing. We have met with Heavenly Mountain and they do not know who is taking them down. There has also been a report that Heavenly Mountain now has some blazes down on their side of the creek. When following blazes, please only follow places with the BR logo on them. We are meeting with Heavenly Mountain soon and will discuss this item with them to work out standardized blazes.

If you are not receiving emails from the Hospitality Team regarding community events please let me know and I will share your email address with them. It is important you sign up for Clubster to be able to see all the activities that Erica and her team have planned for the year. Ashley in the Fitness Center is also coordinating BRMC led hikes on the trails and they are actually on one this afternoon.

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Memorial Day Weekend.
